Additional information
by Bill Cara (Author)
What's the book about?
SML is a comprehensive self-help education and information course of studies for anybody who wants to invest and trade in securities
What is different in this book?
SML is a comprehensive book with ten topics and 120 concise chapters, including 322 illustrations. Each topic and most chapters could be a book, but I cover the entire subject in one book
Investments in over 20 countries and regions of the work are highlighted
It's a "living" book with thousands of external links to free market information and education sources that cover the whole subject and the world
The content contains parts that are interesting to sophisticated as well as newbie investors
What is the main message?
As an independent owner of capital, become well prepared to meet opportunities that match up with your particular needs for income or capital growth
Learn to invest and trade in the securities of high-quality companies, not simply trade Wall Street funds based on technical tactics
The owner of capital must understand that the stock market is a game that plays people
Personal bias, which is an investor's biggest challenge, can be overcome with education and the reliance on facts, not narratives
Why did you write the book?
Most available education and information about the stock market comes from writers and organizations on Wall Street, the people who trade against the independent owner of capital, and I wanted to show the reader how I deal with it as a professional on the buy-side
Most people put their money into funds, which is not investing; it's trading against the most sophisticated computer trading systems in the world of the world's most prominent financial organizations who are the winners while the owner of the capital is taken advantage of
A self-educated investor will likely make lower-risk investment decisions, have more meaningful discussions with advisors and salespeople, and be more likely to reach financial goals
Some readers will possess more knowledge of some of the book's contents than me but need an overview perspective to help them invest in the areas of their interest and needs.
What's the problem of the reader you are trying to solve?
Eliminating their "retail buyer" reliance on the sell-side "robber barons" of Wall Street
Having people understand that Wall Street operates with self-conflicts that are not permitted in any other aspect of society
Why should the reader care?
Being financially illiterate causes stress and anxiety
Due to the lack of stock market literacy in the world, Humongous Bank & Broker (hb&b) has taken control of our capital markets and put the system's integrity at stake
It's in the best interests of independent owners of capital, who are principals, to take control back from their agents and intermediaries on Wall Street who trade against them
HB&B has become politicized with platforms such as ESG, Inclusion, and Climate Change
