As Antiguans, Jacqueline and her husband, Allison, were raised to believe in having a plan A, a plan B, and even a plan C for success. That foundation shaped how they raised their son, Jason, who later pursued his undergraduate studies in chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
In Raising a Scholar, Jacqueline O. Ashe, EdD, an experienced educator and lifelong advocate for learning, invites readers into her family's story of perseverance, discipline, and love. Through honest reflection and practical guidance, she reveals the daily habits, expectations, and meaningful conversations that helped shape Jason's academic and personal journey.
This narrative goes beyond grades and test scores. It explores how emotional connection, cultural pride, and consistent encouragement help children develop confidence, curiosity, and a sense of purpose.
For parents, caregivers, educators, and every adult who shapes a child's world, this book is a reminder that scholars are raised, not left to chance-and that every child can thrive when guided with vision, faith, and heart.
