In Overemployed: The Digital Workers' Movement Redefining Business as Usual in the Remote Work Age, we pull back the curtain on a quietly thriving community of 'overemployed' workers-a cohort of digital nomads, remote warriors, and corporate rebels who've literally hacked the traditional 9-5 model. This movement, born out of necessity during the chaotic reshuffling of the pandemic--and some would argue, a natural response to the paradigm shift to "career" jobs being disposable as the norm--is reshaping how the modern workforce operates.
We meet several overemployed workers throughout the book, peering over their shoulder as they navigate the perilous waters of two, three, even up to five full-time jobs, balancing the demands of their roles with the kind of subterfuge and multi-faceted personas of your average spy.
Overemployed is a voyeuristic snapshot and a ridealong with the restless, overqualified, and underpaid masses who have embraced the flexibility of remote work to create multiple income streams-and ultimately, their own safety nets in a volatile world.Blending humour with cutting-edge insights, pulling from online communities and real-world end user experiences to craft a comprehensive guide for anyone looking to join this evolving workforce. Whether you're considering taking on an extra role or just curious about how others are thriving under the radar, this book lays out the ethics, strategy, and mindset required to excel.
This is not a handbook for side-hustlers. This is a manifesto for those who refuse to let the constraints of a single job dictate their future. Welcome to Overemployed.
