Beverly encourages families to talk with each other, discuss their wishes, and to use the support networks available in cases of serious to terminal illness. A terminal diagnosis does not have to mean giving up hope and instant death. It can be an opportunity, a time of coming together, putting the past behind, cherishing precious moments, creating mutual understanding, bonding, establishing family legacies and respecting wishes.
