Tell a friend that you're interviewing (either someone who is hiring or looking to get hired), you'll likely be met with a sympathetic look. It's hard out there. Beyond the time sunk in research, preparing, screening and searching, there's the emotional rollercoaster that people on both sides are experiencing. Do they like me? Is this a good fit? Are they talking to other people? Was that interview super awkward? Why am I like this? Why is this so awful?
It doesn't have to be.
With a little strategy, tactical preparation, and finding genuine curiosity and honesty, the interview process can change from a laborious slog to a series of really compelling conversations. Ones that not only don't feel like work, but excel at matching the right person to the right job, at the right time.
