This mix must meet the growing demand for energy, protect the climate and promote economic growth by making energy affordable for both households and businesses. Kafafi discusses three main issues: high carbon emissions, energy supply shortages and high costs, as well as the importance of all stakeholders contributing to the energy transition strategy. He argues that a diverse energy mix including renewables, natural gas plants and advanced nuclear reactors, is essential for both energy security and climate health. Encouraging industries to improve energy efficiency through emissions taxes and educating customers on energy conservation will accelerate this transition. Additionally, a modern power grid is crucial for the success of this shift towards a green economy, and innovations are expected to reduce the cost of expensive carbon capture technologies.
