In 1948, an old man named William Henry Roberts was confronted with evidence that he was Billy the Kid. At first he denied his identity, but reluctantly admitted who he was. Based on taped interviews with Roberts, new evidence discovered in the 1990s, and sophisticated photo comparison technology by the FBI, the conclusion that Roberts was Billy the Kid gains support.

W. C. Jameson is the author of over twenty-eight books and 200 articles, a newspaper columnist, a songwriter, and an entertainer. Former President of the Western Writers of America, he won the Stirrup Award for the best magazine article. He is an award-winning syndicated columnist with over 1,200 columns. As a writer, he is well known for his compelling series on America's lost mines and buried treasure.
