World-renowned origami artists and award-winning authors Michael G. LaFosse and Richard L. Alexander show you the way with Trash Origami. This origami book presents unique and fun projects from their Origamido Studio and from some of the world's best paper designers, including Nick Robinson, Herman Van Goubergen, and Rona Gurkewitz.

The origami models are presented for the reader who may have little or no previous folding experience, making it a great origami-for-kids book and an effective way to learn origami. However, experienced paper folders will also be intrigued by the novel nature of the folds and the unusual materials involved. The origami designs are made from old calendar pages, candy wrappers, envelopes, newspaper, postcards, paper grocery bags and more. The accompanying DVD video tutorial will make the folding process clearer and aid folders of all skill levels. Also provided is a guide to everyday materials that have the most folding potential leaving readers inspired to design and display their very own "trash" origami.

This origami book includes:

Full-color, 95-page instructional book

25 unique origami projects

Projects from top paper folding designers

Clear, step-by-step directions

Paper folding techniques and tips

Accompanying instructional DVD

All videos are also streamable or downloadable online

Origami projects include:

Photo Cubes

Candy Wrapper Butterflies

Interlocking Flower Petals

Custom-Bound Books

And many more!

Get ready to look at the contents of your wastebaskets and recycling bins with a different sensibility. LaFosse decided he would be an origami artist in 1971, after reading (and rereading) a Readers' Digest article by Leland Stowe, about the amazing folded art of Japanese Master Akira Yoshizawa. An avid teacher, LaFosse co-founded the Origamido Studio, a learning center and design studio dedicated to the art of origami, and the only place in the world specializing in hand papermaking for the origami artist. A biologist by training, LaFosse is one of the most celebrated natural history origami artists. He has spent decades studying plants and animals and re-creating them in detailed folded paper projects. He has also created hundreds of designs now seen in exceptional exhibitions, and published in dozens of books, kits, and videos.

Richard L. Alexander met LaFosse in 1988, and together they have produced exhibitions and publications about paper art and origami. Alexander has worked with LaFosse full time since 2003, and since then has made all of the Origamido handmade paper. Alexander also teaches and designs origami, while being responsible for photography, videography, commercial projects, and managing the Origamido Studio gallery spaces and exhibitions.

Number of Pages: 96

Dimensions: 0.3 x 11 x 8.4 IN

Publication Date: April 16, 2019

https://infinitylightwa.com/products/trash-origami-25-paper-folding-projects-reusing-everyday-materials-origami-book-with-25-fun-projects-and-instructional-dvd-paperback
