His debut novel, \u003ci\u003eSummer Sons, \u003c\/i\u003ewhich has been featured in \u003ci\u003eNPR\u003c\/i\u003e and the \u003ci\u003eChicago Review of Books\u003c\/i\u003e, is a contemporary Southern gothic dealing with queer masculinity, fast cars, and ugly inheritances.
