I find negative accounts of living there overwhelming in comparison to the positives, especially those stories depicting life in the hi-rise public housing projects that have now been almost totally demolished. Even some former residents of many of these types of federal housing projects with whom I have discussed their views mouth the same negatives. Their description as hideous, non-viable, or poorly planned blights to surrounding neighborhoods that festered with crime and drugs belies another reality.
