He returned home as Sergeant Fuqua and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Valor, two Air Medals for over 50 helicopter flights into hostile forces, and the Combat Infantry Badge. Herb is a disabled vet suffering a severe hearing loss from combat and is today battling cancer as a result of exposure to Agent 0range. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHerb and his wife, Yaneth, have been married 56 years. They both accepted Jesus Christ into their lives at a young age and became ordained ministers (officers) with The Salvation Army. They retired after over 38 years of service. Their daughters, Jennifer and Yvette, along with their husbands are in ministry with The Salvation Army, as well.
